The Loire
The Loire, on its portion located between Gien and Ingrandes, is a river that can look like a seaside. And yet, we are several hundred kilometers from the estuary.
There are many sandbanks, sea birds and when you look underwater, you can see hundreds of mullets (fish that are normally found on the sea shore). However, the water that flows is very fresh, and we find a varied ecosystem, consisting of many species of freshwater fish. Pike, pike-perch, carp or asp, the species present in the Loire are numerous. In summer, the water of the Loire is crystal clear and sight fishing is often possible and very instructive.

A very touristic region
The main cities like Tours, Orleans, Blois or Angers are well served by trains and highways. Depending on where you live, the Centre Val de Loire can be a beautiful destination even if it is only for a weekend, the time to get away from it all.
The Centre Val de Loire is a very touristic region, finding an accommodation, a camping or a room to stay a few days is very simple.

Tourist interests of the Loire
Apart from fishing, one of the interests of visiting the region is its many famous castles, like Amboise, Chambord or Chenonceau. Moreover, the 280 kilometers of the Loire Valley located between Sully-sur-Loire and Chalo

The Loire, an easy access river for fishing
Fishing in the Loire from the shore is quite simple, the accessible banks are numerous, because there are almost none of them private. The only thing is that it is necessary to plan to walk to reach the remote sectors.
The Loire River has remained quite wild, and except in the city, there are often just a few small paths to get to the water's edge. A pair of waders allows you to access many places, and will be your greatest ally to explore this river properly.

The Loire can be dangerous
However, the constitution of the Loire, with its numerous sandbanks, can contain unstable and dangerous soil. For the uninitiated, it is better to remain cautious and to venture only on the hard grounds, made up of rock.
The most dangerous areas are the sandbanks located at the edge, because the current digs under the bank and it collapses when you walk on it, forming a mixture of sand and water from which it is complicated to extract.
Anyway, it's an exotic region, that I strongly advise to visit, without forgetting your fishing rod.
