Kayak fishing for sea bass in the summer, prefer daybreak especially when it is very hot

In summer, choosing the right time to succeed in your sea bass fishing session in a kayak is essential. For me, I don't ask myself a thousand questions, it is of course early in the morning, just at daybreak that the results will be better.

Beautiful colors and active fish

At daybreak

In summer, on the coast, it is often not easy to find nice fish. Choosing the right moment is obvious, the fish must feed every day. The periods of activity will be limited to periods when the water is quiet, far from the summer nautical activities. It is not easy to hope to catch nice fish in the middle of jet skis, boats, boards and other floating objects, identified or not.

Multiply your results by fishing early

While the end of the day is one of those target times for many people, personally, I prefer the early morning, just as the sun rises, for a variety of reasons. The moment when the sun rises is a magical moment in terms of colors and conducive to cool souvenir photos.

Des poissons actifs
Active fish

I also find that the fish, after a quiet night, is much more active than after a hot and heavy day, full of all kinds of noises.

It often happened to me to catch a nice fish at the first cast, one shot, as we say in fishing language. Ideally, the daybreak corresponds to the low tide, it will then be easier to find a nice sea bass on the edges. Sea bass love crabs and shrimps, and the seaweed meadows of the edges are pastures to explore early in the morning.

Fishing techniques to be used

Joli bar au leurre dur
Nice bass with hard lure

At the start of a session, think of dragging a swimming fish in the 1 to 2 meters high water, along the banks, it is often paying.

I use the YoZuri range, the 3DB Jerkbait in 110 SP give excellent results, just about everywhere in France. It is a noisy swimmer fish with a good range of colors. When possible, I also throw small swimmer fish in 70 mm in the goémon, the big ones do not disdain a mouthful bigger than a shrimpâeuros¦

Bar au leurre souple
Bass with soft lure

Don't hesitate to throw a soft lure mounted in Texan in the seaweed, it goes well everywhere and it doesn't catch as much. It is also advisable to use big heavy soft lures, with a big paddle, they can be thrown far enough and allow you to leave the float far from the prospecting area, an additional guarantee of discretion.

Fishing at daybreak for other reasons

Réaliser de belles photos de poisson
Taking beautiful photos of fish

As for the light, as mentioned above, your photos will be more beautiful, a sun rising behind the back of a bar is always a pure moment of happiness.

These beautiful fish will not be active for long, too much light, too much noise, and the chances of stinging a fish are diminishing. Don't miss this moment of calm that is conducive to a successful outing.

Magical moments

Another advantage for us, kayak fishermen, is that after the session, the equipment can be rinsed after leaving the water. The evening sessions are more complicated from this point of view and you should not leave the water when it is dark, only daytime navigation is allowed in a kayak.

So, enjoy the summer and get up early, the future is for those who get up early ...
