Fishing allowed but highly impacted
The practice of fishing is authorized but under such constraints that the majority of French fishermen will not be able to indulge their passion for the duration of the confinement. Indeed, fishing does not benefit from any special treatment and its practice, like any other individual physical activity, is subject to the conditions specified in article 4 of the decree n°2020-1310 " Short trips of up to one hour per day within a maximum radius of one kilometer of the home. Consult your Prefecture or Fishing Federation
In spite of this "non-ban" on fishing, it is nevertheless strongly advised to get information from your local Prefecture or Fishing Federation since, in the same way as for the first containment, regulatory measures can be taken locally. More and more fishing federations are communicating in the sense of a total ban on fishing.
The particular case of the Fishing Guide Instructors
Recreational fishing in France depends on the Ministry of Sports. Fishing guides, as professionals whose main activity is fishing, can obtain a derogatory travel certificate issued by the Ministry of Sports. They cannot receive trainees but can nevertheless continue to work. Let's remember that guiding trainees, if it is the main source of remuneration, represents only the visible part of the activity of a Fishing Guide Instructor.
Don't forget to bring your certificate and make sure you respect the barrier gestures and sanitary provisions in force.
