Words of a guide / Paroles de guide, the series that gives a voice to Fishing Instructors

The profession of Fishing Guide Instructor is struggling to be recognized in France. Fishing.news decided, through the series of interviews "Paroles de guide", to give them a space of expression so that they speak to us about the reality of their daily job and that they share with us the glance which they carry on the guidance in France and elsewhere.

"Paroles de guide" is a series of interviews born of the desire to give a voice to some of the key players in the French fishing industry, who rarely get the chance to express themselves: the Moniteurs Guides de Pêche (fishing guide instructors).

The aim is multi-faceted: to put the profession of Moniteur Guide de Pêche back at the heart of the debate, to enhance its place in the fishing economy, to discuss the situation of guiding in France and, more broadly, the prospects for fishing in France. What's more, while all the guides interviewed are French, they don't all work exclusively in France. Some guide in Spain, Ireland or Patagonia. This is a deliberate choice. This has the dual advantage of raising questions about the reasons for these departures, and providing a number of points of comparison with the French situation.

Each of these interviews is as rich and interesting as the next, enabling us to learn a great deal about the broader situation of fishing in France and its possible future prospects. Each interview is unique, and all complement each other. Find below all the interviews published to date:
