Hello Cedric, can you first introduce yourself to the readers of pêche.com?
Cédric Gandini -Hello, my name is Cedric Gandini (alias Dini Fishing) and I grew up in the Tarn department in the southwest of France. After some professional steps in Creuse and Auvergne, I followed the BPJEPS fishing guide instructor training in 2016 in Aveyron. My passion for nature and more particularly for the leisure fishing activity pushed me very recently on a setting up of guiding services in Spain in the region of Extremadura.

Why did you become a fishing guide?
Cédric Gandini - To blossom in a passionate profession. In 2016, wanting to invest myself in the world of fishing in my department, I wanted to train in fishing animations with many different audiences. A year rich in encounters, but also in moments of sharing have reinforced my idea of reconversion. A simple desire to transmit my joy at the water's edge.

What kind of guidance products do you offer?
Cédric Gandini -I propose since my installation in Spain, the organization of stay fishing to the card. During these stays, I offer my services as a guide to allow everyone to discover the different dams of Extremadura as well as its wild nature, the fishing of the moment, good local food and of course the hospitality of this very welcoming country.
The choice of services is quite diversified, the accommodation very close to magnificent dams allows me to practice fishing from the shore, by float-tube and by boat. All you have to do is to compose the menu of your vacations.

What does being a fishing guide mean to you?
Cédric Gandini -Being a guide, as this word indicates, means for me to be a person who listens and who does everything possible to make people feel and to transmit the passion that drives him.
Do you fish or not fish when you are guiding?
Cédric Gandini -No, never during my guiding, except if it is the choice of the mentee(s). A day of guiding remains a day that is organized and must enrich the mentee. It is a work of passion, but also a very demanding work.
What do you do when you are not guiding?
Cédric Gandini -My free time is always spent near the water or in nature. I have the chance to live in a small paradise where I can live my passion without too many limits. Extremadura is so rich that I prepare my new guides by practicing all types of fishing, but also by exploring sublime landscapes by walking in the DEHESA (an artificial biotope shaped by man that extends over a large part of Spain and Portugal).

What is your view on guiding in France?
Cédric Gandini -The guiding in France for me develops very well concerning the activity of individual guide. Nevertheless the animation part with the general public lacks a lot of guides especially in some departments.
What advice would you give to people who would like to start this adventure?
Cédric Gandini -I would like to tell them to never lose the passion that makes them tick and especially not to believe that it will be easy to make this passion a main job.

As a fisherman, what is your dream?
Cédric Gandini -Right now, I'm living it and I hope I never wake up.
