The Kreh knot ensures maximum freedom for your swimming fish

Kreh knot

The Kreh knot is little known to anglers, and wrongly so, because like the Rapala knot, it creates a loop that ensures perfect freedom and swimming for your swimming fish. What's more, it's extremely strong.

The Kreh knot has the particularity of forming a loop when tied. This loop is essential to allow your swimmer-fish to move with maximum freedom and thus be even more efficient.

It's just as easy to make and learn as the Rapala knot, but has the advantage of not collecting seaweed, as the free strand faces backwards.

For greater visibility, I've made this tutorial with 40/100 fluorescent thread.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1

Tie a simple knot in your leader.

Step 2

Pass your line through the eye of your lure.

Step 3

Pass the thread back through the knot formed on the main strand.

Step 4

Make 4-5 turns around the main strand.

Step 5

Pass the thread back through the knot.

Step 6

Moisten with saliva and tighten the knot, holding the free strand tight.

Trim the excess and your knot is now complete.

Advantages of the Kreh knot :

  • Solid
  • Possible with nylons of different diameters
  • Quick and easy to make
  • Does not pick up algae thanks to free, rear-facing strand
