The Grand Pavois exhibition will take place from September 18th to 23rd in La Rochelle. During the event, the Grand Pavois Fishing will be the opportunity to discover the practice of kayak fishing which is growing considerably.

The Grand Pavois boat show has had the distinction of taking place on the water in the La Rochelle marina for 46 years. It is an opportunity for visitors to discover in concrete terms what all types of boats can do in real conditions.

Spotlight on the fishing kayak

The novelty for this 2019 edition is put forward the fishing kayak. The practice of fishing aboard these boats has become considerably more widespread in recent years and offers many advantages on a practical and technical level. The kayak allows access to areas often inaccessible to boats along the coast and the very shallow draft is a significant asset for good fishing. In recent years, competition results have clearly demonstrated this in relation to the performance of boats when the two types of vessels are confronted.

Already present in 2018, fishing kayaks will be in the spotlight in 2019

Visitors will therefore have the opportunity, during this show, to discover and try out models designed and adapted to sea fishing. As a result, this year the Grand Pavois is setting up a permanent testing base for fishing kayaks. An area specially dedicated to, in the heart of the marina.

The Grand Pavois Fishing is also an opportunity to see great catches like this bar.

Two days for the Grand Pavois Fishing

At the same time, on 21 and 22 September, teams of pro-staff fishermen will compete in the Grand Pavois Fishing competition from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm aboard fifteen or so vessels. A two-day format for the competition reserved for brands.

The public will therefore have the opportunity to meet these specialists and take advice from them on both technical fishing techniques and the proper use of on-board electronics. Navicom is also planning training sessions on this subject.

As every year, the set of Fishing TV, during this show, will be the setting for interviews with specialists of the sea fishing world in France under the baton of the conductor Frédéric Brilloux.
