Yannick and Armand Michaud won the second edition of the Carna'Der, held on October 10 and 11 at Lac du Der. With 949 points, they finished ahead of William and Philippe Courte?who once again took second place?and Antoine Teresi and Bertrand Picarda. A total of 408 catches were recorded.

Organized by the Union of Fishing Federations and Associations for the Protection of the Aquatic Environment (UFAPPMA) Lac du Der, the Carna'Der 2026 brought together 127 teams, for a total of 255 registered competitors. Dedicated to lure fishing for predatory fish from boats, this second edition featured two rounds: seven hours on Saturday, followed by six hours on Sunday. The competition ended at 3:00 p.m., and the results were announced at 5:00 p.m.

The Michauds Make a Difference Starting Saturday

Already champions in 2025, Yannick and Armand Michaud have reaffirmed their success on Lake Der. The father and son scored a total of 949 points for 13 catches, 12 of which were made on the first day. Their victory was therefore largely secured on Saturday, before a less productive second round for all participants.

With a lead of just 21 points over their closest competitors, the champions nevertheless have enough of a cushion to secure a second consecutive victory.

Les Courte are still in second place; Teresi and Picarda are in third

William and Philippe Courte took second place on the podium, just as they did in the inaugural event. Fifth on Saturday and tenth on Sunday, they finished with 928 points and 12 valid catches.

Antoine Teresi and Bertrand Picarda took third place with 909 points for 14 catches. Fourth in the first round and then second in the next, they had a consistent weekend. Their result also underscores that a higher number of catches does not guarantee victory: the size of the fish counted toward the quota remains the deciding factor.

A 114-centimeter pike and 101 teams with catches

Over the two days, 101 pairs recorded at least one catch, representing nearly 80% of the participating teams. The 408 catches totaled 292.79 meters in length, with an average of 72.65 centimeters. Matthieu Grenot landed the largest catch of the competition: a 114-centimeter pike.

This edition highlights two paths to the podium: building a decisive lead right from the start, as the Michauds did, or maintaining consistent results over both races, as Teresi and Picarda did. The less successful Sunday race underscored the importance of the opportunities seized the day before.

Final standings:

  1. Yannick and Armand Michaud: 949 points.
  2. William and Philippe Courte: 928 points.
  3. Antoine Teresi and Bertrand Picarda: 909 points.
