Eight crews set out early Saturday morning under skies that were still unsettled, with thunderstorms visible off the coast of La Pallice and L'Aiguillon. Conditions quickly shifted to a scorching weekend, requiring careful management of effort and fishing strategies.
Active bars that later retreated to greater depths
The first fishing trips on Saturday morning proved particularly productive, with active fish in the shallow areas. As the day went on and temperatures rose, the sea bass gradually moved to deeper waters, forcing the crews to adjust their tactics.
At the end of this first day, 58 42-cm striped bass were recorded, including a superb 72-cm specimen, the largest catch of the weekend.
Sunday followed a similar pattern, though activity was slightly lower. The teams had to further refine their strategies to keep finding fish. A total of 81 sea bass were counted over the course of the competition, confirming the area?s strong potential despite challenging weather conditions.

A friendly atmosphere and memorable moments
Beyond the athletic performance, this leg was marked by a friendly atmosphere and special moments, particularly with the presence of dolphins that swam alongside some of the crews at sea.
