The principle of the new rule
Lure fishing remains regulated in the traditional way throughout the département (with pike closed, pike-perch periods, etc.), but a derogation opens up lure fishing all year round on 15 specific bodies of water.
The aim is to facilitate the practice of lure fishing for carnivorous species at selected sites, while maintaining a protective framework for pike, zander and black bass populations elsewhere.
On these 15 lakes, it is now possible to fish with lures without interrupting the fishing schedule, provided that legal sizes, catch quotas and site-specific rules are respected.

The 15 lakes concerned
The complete and official list of 15 water bodies is featured in the Gironde fishing federation's 2026 documents (regulatory leaflet, federal website, announcements on their networks).
Each body of water is named with its commune and, where applicable, the exact sectors where this permanent opening to lures applies.
However, it is important to check this updated list because :
- Some bodies of water may have different sectors (noâeuroskill zones, reserves, closed sectors).
- Specific local regulations (APPMA manager) may also apply: schedules, number of rods, type of lures, compulsory release for certain species.
Practical consequences for predator fishing
Although lures are permitted all year round on these 15 lakes, the following rules continue to apply:
- Minimum sizes: pike (60âeuros80 cm depending on sector), zander 50 cm, black perch 40 cm, perch of all sizes, etc.
- Daily quotas: number of carnivores kept per day and per angler (pike, zander, black pike), as defined in departmental regulations.
- Fishing licence required: annual, daily or other licence valid in Gironde and, if necessary, the local APPMA licence/membership.
Outside these 15 bodies of water, the general rule remains the same: during the pike closure, fishing with live, dead or artificial fish, spoons and any lure likely to catch pike is prohibited in second-category waters.

Relationship with other 2026 developments in Gironde
This permanent opening to lures is part of a series of 2026 regulatory changes in Gironde.
A new framework for catfish management, with a ban on live release in certain basins (Garonne, Dordogne, Leyre and tributaries).
Adjustments and clarifications on reserves, prohibited zones and fishing methods on various watercourses.
To fish with peace of mind on these 15 lakes :
- Download or consult the leaflet " Réglementation 2026 âeuros Fishing in Gironde "This document summarizes the general rules and the list of water bodies concerned.
- Check the Fédération de pêche de la Gironde website or networks for updates (post presenting the new feature, any corrections or additions).
- Check with your local APPMA for additional rules (noâeuroskill, schedules, floatâeurostube, navigation, etc.).
