Weekly material / Trout fishing: the new Sico-lure 2026 features to try out at the opening

The trout season is approaching. In just a few years, thanks to innovative lures, Sico-Lure has managed to make a name for itself in anglers' tackle boxes. We take a look at what they have to offer for this new season which is just around the corner.

At Sico-lure, we're all about efficiency. There's no need to release new products just to expand the catalog. With a range of swimming fish such as the Sico first and Perfect in several sizes and densities, we're ready to face any situation.

There are a few new additions to the catalog this year, mainly new colors, but also an accessory that will appeal to the most minimalist.

Swimming fish

We'll start with the swimming fish, since this is where the Sico-lure adventure began.

The Perfect range remains unchanged, with only the Sico first receiving a few new colors. We might have hoped for an extra size for the latter, which is capped at 68 mm.

These lures are sold armed with single hooks. This is rare enough to merit a mention. We know that, for the moment, this is a handicap in terms of sales. It's a courageous choice on the part of the brand. More and more regulations are banning treble hooks on their courses. It's true that treble hooks sometimes cause fatal injuries. If we're going to put them back in the water, we might as well take the utmost care of our playing partners by reducing handling to a minimum and adopting the single barbless hook. Our poor trout already have enough to do to fight against warming waters, various forms of pollution, droughts, predatory birds...

Soft lures

On the soft lure front, a new color for the mini paddle. It's a lure out of the ordinary with, as its name suggests, a very small paddle. It's a bit of a hybrid between the classic shad and the finess. This ayu color should please. Here too, a larger size would have pleased big trout anglers.

Spoons

On the spoon side, a few new colors for the undulating spoons. This lure is coming back into fashion. Especially in mini mode for rainbow trout. In their large size (11 g), they have the advantage of being able to be cast very far. The coating is solid and will resist trout teeth.

Accessories

Last but not least, new accessories. After the chest pack, here's a waterproof banana. It's very compact and will make you forget you're fishing. Large enough to hold lures and a few spools of line. There's enough room for a pair of pliers and a few accessories on the belt. I would have liked to find a landing net holder, but this is an accessory that can be added to the belt.

A big surprise is also in store with the release of a top-of-the-range rod christened "signature". A 2.15 m rod with a power of 2-16 g which should be available at the end of February. Just in time for the opening of the trout season, which I hope will be excellent.
