Main features of the Prorex Slim Shady
The Prorex Slim Shady is a supple lure with a slim profile and a very supple but tough material, allowing it to come to life at the slightest touch while holding up well over time. Its narrow body and small tail give it a tight swimming action with plenty of rolling action, and its streamlined shape makes it easy to cast far. It comes in 4 sizes (7.5 âeuros 10.5 âeuros 12.5 âeuros 16 cm) to cover perch to big pike, with a palette of a dozen fairly natural colors, plus a few brighter shades for fishing tinted waters or in low light.âeuros
Target fish
In the small size (7.5 cm), it is ideal for perch, black-bass and trout in slow rivers or lakes, where its bleak/smelt profile triggers the hunt. The intermediate sizes 10.5 and 12.5 cm are designed for pike-perch, whether in lake, gravel or large river, especially for fishing close to the bottom. In 16 cm, it becomes a real magnet for pike or large pelagic pike-perch, while remaining light on the rod, allowing long fishing without fatigue.âeuros
Recommended mounts
Mounted on a round sinker or light soccer head, it offers great rolling action and a very attractive slow swimming action, perfect for line fishing for zander or perch. With heavier heads or darters, its slender tail doesn't slow down the descent, making it ideal for deep scraping or vertical pull fishing. It also lends itself very well to the Texan rig for passing through weedbeds or over crowded areas, and can even be used unleaded for buzzing just below the surface, its suppleness allowing it to swim unleaded.âeuros
Effective animations
The most effective animations are :
- A slow line close to the bottom, with short pauses to regain contact and trigger fussy pike-perch.âeuros
- Pull or sawtooth, letting the lure drop well, effective on pike and pike-perch posted in breaks.âeuros
- In mid-euro linear mode, faster on active perch or pelagic pike, taking advantage of its narrow stroke that remains stable even at high speeds.âeuros
This is a very supple "passeâeurospartout" shad, designed for line fishing but versatile enough to scrape, troll or fish in Texan style as soon as bleak-type forage fish are present.âeuros
