Miami
Miami and the surrounding cities are among the largest in the USA. They all feature numerous canals and lakes, built to control water and drain certain areas to create habitable zones.
These canals, home to many species of fish, are a paradise for street fishing. Even though there are many private banks, especially around the lakes, the playground accessible from the shore is simply gigantic and very easy to access!
As if that weren't enough, there's also access to the ocean, with canals and marinas where you can fish.

All in all, if you start from Florida City in the south and stretch out to West Palm Beach in the north, that's a strip 150 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide, so there are plenty of possibilities! In addition, there are a few areas in the Everglades accessible from the shore.
How to get there
From Europe, there are several direct flights to Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports, which take us directly to the fishing grounds, so there's no need to travel far!
Accommodation
Florida is an affordable state. The prices of a bed in a youth hostel, a room in a motel or a rental are not outrageous, and remain affordable, especially in hostels, thanks to the large number of this type of accommodation on site.
Getting around
In terms of transport, it's relatively easy to get around. You can opt for a rental car, traffic is relatively fluid, the only thing you'll have to manage is parking, which isn't always easy.
Another option is the bus. The city has a well-developed and efficient public transport network, making it easy to get around quickly.

Finally, getting around by bike is also feasible. There are plenty of cycle paths, and buses have bike racks, which are handy for long-distance journeys.

The fish
The number of fish species on site is simply staggering. In freshwater, you can enjoy looking for peacock-bass, snakehead, oscar, black-bass, clown knife fish, as well as a large number of tilapia and cichlid species, each more beautiful than the last.

In these environments, you can even find tarpon and snook, which are regularly encountered.
If you extend the playground to salt water, you can easily find barracudas and jacks, as well as other species such as snappers.

Wildlife
It's not just the fish that will blow your mind on site, but all the wildlife you can come across, even in the middle of the city, such as alligators and manatees, for the most imposing!

When to visit
The cooler winter months and heavy rainfall during the hurricane season in summer are the times to avoid visiting. The best time to visit is from March to June, then from September to October.
