Fishing in Corsica
Going fishing along the famous and difficult GR 20 long-distance hiking trail may seem a far-fetched idea to many anglers. Jérôme Magnier-Moreno has taken up his pen and fly rod to offer us a unique account of his journey across the Isle of Beauty. Breathtaking landscapes, funny encounters and situations, a real breath of fresh air for the reader. Not only has the author borrowed the title of his book from Hemingway, but he too has an intoxicating palette of words and colors that transport us on his initiatory journey in search of Corsican trout.

Author and painter
Jérôme Magnier-Moreno was born in Paris in 1976. He studied landscape architecture and became a painter in 2001. Jérôme Magnier-Moreno paints both figurative and abstract landscapes under the pseudonym Rorcha, in reference to the projective test of Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach. He has found in writing a complementary approach to reality and landscape, which he conveys to us in Le Saut oblique de la truite, his first novel.
Excerpt from Le Saut oblique de la truite
"I can only immediately leave the path, walk in a straight line to the riverbed and prostrate myself, palms in the water, body crouched in a position of prayer that would have been strange to anyone observing me from afar. This river is a marvel; I decide to fish it without delay. I take my four-piece rod out of its denim case and start reeling it in feverishly, devouring the turquoise transparency with my eyes. Generally speaking, the more beautiful the river, the trickier it can be to thread the line through the rod's rings. The fingers are impatient, vaguely trembling, almost as clumsy as unhooking a bra on D-Day... "
