Yamashita and Maria brands place their trust in Ultimate Fishing

Japanese company Yamaria Corporation, which specializes in the development of sea-fishing equipment through its Maria and Yamashita brands, has granted exclusive distribution of its products in France to Brittany-based Ultimate Fishing.

The distribution agreement signed this summer took effect on August 21, and Ultimate Fishing will be able to offer Maria and Yamashita products to its fishing tackle retailer customers from September 20.

A premium brand

Yamashita is Japan's pioneering squid fishing brand. It has a long history in the creation of fishing tackle for cephalopods. The first Yamashita references were marketed in Japan in 1965. Over 1,500 profiles and colors of squid jigs have been produced by the company since its inception, making Yamashita a particularly popular brand with cephalopod anglers worldwide. The Yamashita and Maria brands already enjoy an excellent reputation in France. With this agreement, Ultimate Fishing expands its offer with two brands and two ranges that will complete a catalog where technical products and Japanese brands already hold a strong place.

Technical, high-performance products

Nicolas Cadiou (Communications Manager at Ultimate Fishing) explains "This was a superb opportunity to expand our offer and we had to seize it. We know the quality of Yamashita and Maria products, and that many anglers have total confidence in them. These two brands fit in perfectly with our desire to offer our customers a range of technical, high-performance products. Maria will undeniably strengthen our range of lures for tuna and pelagic fish, while Yamashita will enable us to take a strong position in the cephalopod market. In addition to selecting the best references for the French market from these brands' ranges, we aim to support them with a high quality of service for our customers and end-users. Stock availability, speed of delivery, and the ability to explain and introduce the range are the main objectives we have set ourselves."

Taiki Natsume (Yamaria's Export Manager) is also delighted with this new distribution partnership. He will be visiting France this autumn, and hopes to take the opportunity to fish for squid, sea bass and bluefin tuna with the Ultimate Fishing staff. He also plans to travel with some of Japan's top cephalopod specialists in 2025 to meet French fishermen at public events, the dates and details of which should be announced in the coming months.
