The Sandra 16 and 18 cm
Grubs have the particularity of moving at very low speeds and, above all, of moving a large volume of water. In flood conditions, these qualities are a great advantage for the angler. In this family, Delalande's Sandra has been a best-seller for many years. I recommend you go for the 16 and 18 cm models, given the prey you'll be hunting at this time of year.
The 7-inch One up
In high water, a very supple shad that reacts to the slightest stimulus allows for minimalist animation and precision fishing. So, if there are other references with the same qualities, I recommend the One Up Shad, which also has the advantage of being very dense and can be weighted very lightly. The ideal size is 7 inches at this time of year, and 6 inches is a minimum.
The 6-inch Shaker
To complete the shad family, a model that moves a large volume of water and produces strong vibrations is essential. Lunker City's 6" Shaker is a model that perfectly meets these requirements, and has a proven track record.
Le Giant X layer
In times of high water, in very dirty waters, there are a few tricks that can make all the difference, and rattles in particular. The Megabass X Layer Giant is an excellent tool for this purpose. Well-known to bass anglers, it is not used in freshwater... And wrongly so!
Gulp jerk shad 17.5 cm
When fishing slowly on the bottom, attractants can help you decide on apathetic fish or improve the quality of your bites. The Gulp family is outstanding in this respect and can make all the difference when fishing is complicated. Once again, a nice bite is recommended, so I recommend Berkley's Gulp jerk shad in 17.5 cm.
The right weapons
To properly rig large lures, it's essential to choose leaded heads with long shank hooks. Models in 4/0 or 5/0 are a good compromise. In addition, when the bites are short, don't hesitate to make a stinger of about ten centimetres with a small triple that you'll hook before the tail of your lure to hook the most stubborn pike-perch.
The right colors
At the height of the flood, visibility is reduced to a minimum. Flashy colors are preferable, particularly chartreuse and pink, but also those that contrast the most, with black at the top of the list. White is also a must-have in your boxes.
