Introducing Flappin' Hog II
Flappin' Hog II is both a creature and a 9.5 cm crayfish imitation. It has four pairs of appendages, three on the base of the body and one on the tail. Its appendages all have different shapes and vibrations, and are highly mobile in water. The lateral appendages imitate legs and give this lure a very realistic look in action.

Which set-ups work best?
The Flappin' Hog II's compact shape and numerous appendages allow us to use it in many different circumstances, on many different rigs. My favourite rig is undoubtedly as a rubber jig trailer for stalking big black bass in congested areas. To use it as a chatterbait trailer, I recommend you remove the 3 pairs of side appendages and keep only the pair positioned on the tail. On a chatterbait, it's important not to have too many appendages which could drastically slow down your chatterbait and disrupt its swimming action. On the other hand, if you want to use it as a carolina rig or texas rig, all the appendages are very useful and help the fish to spot our lure better.

When to use the Flappin' Hog II?
Crayfish imitations can be used all year round for black-bass fishing. Only the type of rig and color will need to be modified to suit the fishing conditions. Generally speaking, watermelon and green pumpkin are best used in clear water and in weed beds. The fire craw and watermelon/orange copper colors, on the other hand, are very effective as trailers and for fishing tinted waters. The Flappin' Hog II is best used as a trailer for jigs and chatterbaits from November onwards, until prespawn, to target large individuals.
Texan and Carolina rigs are effective all year round, but lend themselves perfectly to summer fishing when the water is warm and real crayfish are on the move. It is also very interesting to use it as a punching rod in very thick mats of grass or water lilies, areas appreciated by big black bass when the water is very warm.
