This vest complies with ISO 12402-3 (170 N). It's a self-inflating vest that uses a compressed paper capsule system, which dissolves and triggers percussion of the CO2 cylinder when water flows over the top. Spray or rain, which can wet the vest, does not trigger the percussion. The percussion can also be triggered using a manual pull cord.

Finally, it can be inflated using an inflation nozzle. The vest features subcutaneous straps. It comes with instructions (in French) and a storage bag. The vest features a whistle next to the mouthpiece.

Maintenance

Utiliser le kit prévu pour remplacer en cas de déclenchement
Use the kit provided for replacement in the event of tripping

As with all vests, desalting with a damp sponge after an outing is required. If you hit the vest, you'll need to replace the trigger kit and CO2 bottle. From time to time, you'll need to inflate your vest using the inflation nozzle to check for any leaks in the seams. Also check the validity date (engraved on it) of the CO2 cylinder, and only use kits designed for this model. If you're not using the vest, store it on a hanger, away from moisture.

Personal comments

Easy to put on, very light, weight well distributed. The instructions, in French, are well detailed with explanatory diagrams. For use both on boats and kayaks, and of course, a lifejacket is only as effective as the person wearing it...
