The Centaure 5.90 XL, a South African-designed semi-rigid, is a boat that has remained relatively confidential due to the limited number of distributors in France. In Brittany, Stevenn from Concept Nautique in Pont l'Abbé works with customers to design and distribute this brand's boats.

Features of Centaur 5.9 XL
The Centaure 5.90 XL is 5.90 m long and 2.55 m wide, with interior dimensions of 4.60 m by 1.40 m.
On this brand's RIBs, the hull has a very deep V that runs consistently along the entire length of the hull, with an angle of 26° at the stern. This specific architecture has been developed to ensure impeccable seakeeping performance.

Impeccable seaworthiness
The Centaure 5.90 XL, with its specific hull and 55 cm-diameter wide stern sections, fulfills the purpose for which it was designed. Its sea passage is exceptional for a boat of this size, and it is often even more efficient and pleasant than larger units.
The large flanges also ensure excellent stability when cruising and at a standstill, amplifying the feeling of safety and comfort.
My unit is powered by a 115 hp Mercury EFI CT (for Command Thrust) engine, which ensures rapid lift-off and a cruising speed of around 26 knots at 4,000 rpm, with fuel consumption of around 19l/hr. At a maximum speed of 6000 rpm, the boat reaches 41 knots.

Generous interior space
The Centaure 5.90 XL is equipped with a 25 cm engine seat, allowing the engine to be moved back as far as possible. In fact, with two jockey seats and a wide bench seat, there's still a 115 cm x 140 cm circulation area and plenty of room up front. Three people can easily fish on this unit without getting in each other's way. What's more, there's plenty of storage space. A large console, the two jockeys and the aft bench seat are all at your disposal, which is more than enough to ensure that there's nothing lying around on deck to impede your mobility.
In addition, the livewell in the deck is a significant advantage in terms of space and comfort for your catch.

A large console
The 166 cm-high Centaure XRM console offers excellent wind protection during navigation. In addition, the 95 cm width allows installation of a fixed VHF, a handrail for passenger safety, and two large depth sounders (10 to 12 inches).
Open hatches on either side of the console give you easy access to the interior space, so you can take full advantage of this substantial storage volume. As for me, the lower module holds my battery and safety equipment, while the upper compartment holds a few boxes of lures, a first-aid kit and various accessories.
Finally, you can fit the handrail to many cane holders, or attach them to the side of the console or rear seat, as I did.
