Macaron SP60, a small hanging swimming fish to insist on

The Macaron SP 60 is a swimming fish distributed by Kerfil for river fishing. Because of its size and the fact that it is suspending, it allows to insist on the marked structures according to the animations.

Macaron SP 60

The macaron SP60 is a small silent swimming fish of suspending nature. It measures 60 mm for a weight of 4.5 grams. Its fine and curved shape gives it the form of a real small prey. Available in 5 colors, the SP60 model is given for a swimming depth of 0,80 m to 1m30. It's a swimming fish to look for salmonids or carnivores in rivers and in current areas.

In fishing conditions

The Macaron SP60 is a lure with a fairly common density, but its spindly shape makes it aerodynamic and easy to cast. Throw it and hold it back a little. This will allow the lure to enter the water from the back and be more discreet, but above all it will allow you to fish under the banks. Indeed, its curved shape allows it to slide backwards when it enters the water.

The animations

This is where it gets a bit tricky. The handling of this little swimmer fish is not the easiest. A simple cast and drag will not allow your lure to move. You have to really animate it. I have tried different animations for you and have selected 3 of them.

1/ Twitching

With the rod down, print short successive pulls (5-6 cm) with pauses of 0.5 seconds to 2 seconds with a semi-expanded banner. This will allow you to imitate a somewhat disoriented fish. A very effective animation under a riffle.

2/ Jerking

Still with the rod down, this time print long pulls (15-20 cm) with longer pauses of 1 second to 5 seconds with a slack banner. Here, the relaxed banner will give your lure a certain freedom of movement and will allow him bigger gaps. I particularly like this animation in quieter areas to attract the attention of sluggish fish.

3/ Shaking

Here, with a high rod and a semi-tensioned banner, you will make your rod tip shake. The shape of the Macaron SP60 allows it to present its two sides in turn and thus to create interesting reflections and especially to send a different signal in the water. I use this technique on the very marked spots where I want to insist a little.

Colors

This is where I might have been a bit disappointed. I would have loved to find the colors of the models SP63S or SK65S. Especially the Silver Bait color which is probably my favorite. Or maybe offer a Ghost Ayu?

Conclusion

The Macaron SP60 is a good swimmer for medium and small rivers with moderate flows. It is a plus in the arsenal of trout fishermen who want a suspending swimmer fish that will allow long insistence on marked structures.
