Presentation of the Perversa
With its eleven centimeters, the Perversa is a lure of rather small size. It is floating and evolves under the surface, up to 80 centimeters of depth.
This lure is simple in design at first glance, yet there is no other lure quite like it. What makes it unique is that it is attached to the top of the head and has no lip. It looks like a lipless, but I don't consider it as such. This attachment point, associated with the wide back of the lure, gives it an irregular swim.
Inside, there are large, very noisy balls. Finally, the lure is delivered with triple hooks and broken rings of good resistance. By preference, I replaced these by single hooks in size 1/0.
Use
In French freshwater, this lure is a good choice for pike, black bass and big perch in shallow areas.
This lure has also a good reputation abroad, on species such as peacock bass, snake head, barramundi or dorado.
It can be used in two ways. The first one, at the simplest, is to bring it back at a constant speed, without animation of the rod. In this way, it swims a little in all the directions, while remaining close to its axis of recovery.
The second animation that suits him well is made of twitch. Its attachment on the back makes it easily move away from its retrieve line, at the slightest stroke of the rod. This animation, punctuated by breaks, is the one that puts all the potential of this lure in action.
In both cases, the fast enough retrieves, to provoke the fish, work well.
My opinion
The barboleta is a lure that often follows me. I can use it very well on black bass, pike, like peacock bass. Its size represents the ideal bite for many carnivorous fish. Its erratic swimming and its noise make it a lure to be used in priority when the waters are warm and the fish are active. The Perversa is an easy to use lure that is capable of attracting receptive fish from a distance.
