Carp fishing
To hear the stories told, the eyes of the fishermen and the inevitable trophy photos, the carp does not leave indifferent.
In open water, rivers, canals, but also on the water bodies, ponds and large lakes, without forgetting the carpodrÃ'mes, carp fishermen are numerous at the water's edge. Each one has his own technique, or the versatility to track this fish from all angles.
In all weathers, in all seasons, this fish can be fished alone, with friends, with families. The carp can be fished as well in leisure as in competition.
Note that the carp are found under different species:
- Mirror carp: they have few scales, smooth skin.
- Common carp: they have many scales.
- The white carp: this elongated fish, with a very round mouth.
- Koi carp: there are red, white, yellow and black carp.
The carp in battery
This fishing technique is the best known. The rods are put on a Road Pod, and the detection of the touch is done thanks to the famous noise of the central, connected to the detectors. The approaches of the carp in battery, can be done with the deposit of an electronic boat, or from throws, of the edge of water, or even directly of a boat.

Sometimes you can start fishing with an ice cube, or with a leadmethod. The main baits used to fish carp in battery are boilies, pellets and seeds.
Carp with a big rod
This technique of fishing is practised especially in the fisheries and the carpodroms. These are bodies of water, private or public, populated with carp. Often like fishing in a basin, or fish pool, the approach to carp with a big rod is very subtle and technical. The fish, very educated and capricious, do not let themselves be caught as easily as one might think.
A big rod, such as a rod with a take up of up to 13 meters and designed to absorb the force and dynamics of the fish is necessary. It is also necessary to have floats and lines meticulously assembled and adapted to carps.
For baits, mainly pellet and corn, and sometimes maggots or bread are needed to trigger the bites. When the waters warm up, carp can also be fished with dough. And here again a multitude of approaches are possible concerning the baiting, either with the cup, the micro-cup, or the sling. A perfect sounding, but above all the fact of knowing how to correctly set your line, are important points.
The fishing can be done as well in edge, especially in full season, as in full water. The detection of the touch, will be transmitted by the float! As soon as it sinks, a small shot of ironing, then it will be necessary to bring back the fish, to work the rubber band, to stripper, to finally put the fish in the landing net!
Carp with feeder, method-feeder and lead
A technique that is practiced with a rod and a reel, specific to the feeder. These rods are very different from battery rods and provide exceptional sensations!
The rig is designed with a classic feeder cage, a lead-method or a simple lead. The baiting, as for him, will be done with flours and pellets, either molded on the lead-method, or filled in the cage feeder. For lead fishing, it will be necessary to slingshot pellets, and to come and fish over them.
To fish, you will have to use mainly small baits, balls, or dumbels. The brands offer us a wide range of shapes, sizes, colors and tastes, everyone will be able to find his favorite bait. These will be placed on hooks with hair, rings, and small spikes.
For the detection of bites, the rod placed on supports, the line hardly stretched, when you see the tip arch and take the rod, it will be up to you. Don't forget to release your drag!
Carp with waggler
In direct contact with the fish during the touch, the pellet waggler is a dynamic surface fishing. The necessary equipment consists of a rod, a reel and a waggler float connected directly to the hook on which a pellet is placed.
It is then necessary to slingshot continuously of the pellet, to make come the fish and make them rise on the surface. The hits are often violent, and sensational.
Carp on the fly
The technique of fly fishing is known to fish for trout and salmon in rivers. But also carnivorous fish, mainly pike in large lakes, or sea bass, in estuaries. Few fishermen try their luck with carp, and yet, there is really something to dream about!
The fly fishers fish for carp, with steamers as well as with bread. With their graceful gestures, they come to put their fly on the water, and thus track the slightest gobage. The hits are powerful, in direct contact with the fish the adrenalin will be at its maximum.
Remember!
- Favour small hooks, without barbs, it is not because you have a big hook that you will make bigger catches, and that you will not unhook them, on the contrary!
- Don't forget your landing nets and landing mats to protect the fish.
- Take a quick picture and release the fish as quickly and gently as possible.
