The Barracuda Tour 2019 takes place for the seventh edition from May 10 to 12 inclusive and from May 15 to 18 from the port of Crouesty (56). This fishing competition has become a must of the season. Many partners have joined Beneteau for the event, including the engine manufacturer Suzuki for the past six years. In 2019, no less than 81 engines from 150 to 300 horsepower are mounted on the Barracuda specially equipped for this competition.
Specialist training
For the event, Suzuki entrusted the assembly of the engines to the students of the professional high school of Etel with the support of 3 technicians of the brand. " Participating in the very concrete preparation of the Barracuda Tour with Suzuki is an opportunity that our students, who are in their post-baccalaureate professional year, appreciate. In Lorient, the young people who took part in the installation of the engines on the boats were really able to approach very closely the world of the company which they will be soon to face "explains Stéphane Rabot, who is in charge of training at the Lycée d'Etel.
More than a competition
The Barracuda Tour allows recreational fishermen to confront the real stars of sea fishing and, at the same time, to exchange on the technical level of fishing and equipment. More than a real competition, this event is also a gathering of sea fishing enthusiasts. And, in general, the festive atmosphere is felt on the boats but also on the pontoons or during the animations in the port of Crouesty.
Muscular weather conditions
With just one day to go before the start of the competition, the weather on Saturday 11th looks a bit complicated to go offshore, but the advantage of the area is to be able to fall back into the Gulf of Morbihan. Moreover, the sea bass are present there at the moment.
