Two tours to explore competitive fishing
The Junior Fishing Tour is based on two complementary disciplines. The JFT Shot is aimed at young people who are passionate about coarse fishing, a technique that requires precision, observation, and consistency. The JFT Lures is dedicated to lure fishing for predatory fish from the shore. Participants must adapt their rigs, retrieves, and movements to target pike, perch, zander, or black bass, depending on the location.
These two series allow each young angler to choose the discipline that best suits their interests. The events are also designed to foster interaction among participants and encourage learning in a sporting, friendly environment that respects aquatic ecosystems.
From the departmental rounds to the national finals
The season begins with competitions held in various departments. Young people who wish to participate should contact their departmental fishing federation to find out the schedule, competition locations, and registration requirements.
At the end of these preliminary rounds, the fishermen who qualify advance to the regional finals. This second stage brings together the best young competitors from each region and determines who will represent their region in the national finals.
As the highlight of the season, these finals bring together the top competitors from the JFT Coup and JFT Leurres tournaments. The winners take home the highly coveted titles of French champions.
A competition open to beginners
You don't need extensive competitive experience to join the Junior Fishing Tour. The tour is also open to young people who want to compete in their first event, learn the rules of the sport, or improve their skills in managing a round.
Beyond the rankings, the JFT serves as a true school of fishing. Reading the water, choosing a spot, preparing equipment, adapting to conditions, and respecting the fish: each event offers an opportunity to gain new knowledge from the organizers, volunteers, and other participants.
Rewards at Every Step
Prizes are awarded to all participants during the various rounds. The young people who make it to the podium also receive prizes provided by major brands specializing in fishing gear.
But the most important thing is the experience of being by the water. The 2026?2027 Junior Fishing Tour offers young people under 18 the opportunity to compete against other fishing enthusiasts, gain independence, and enjoy days full of excitement. To join the adventure, the first step is to contact your local fishing federation and check the dates of upcoming events near you.
