Glideway 176
The result of several years' development and the joint work of top anglers such as Roberto Martinez Monton, the Glideway 176 is an extremely effective glide bait.
Its density is perfectly controlled, or should I say: controllable! In fact, it's up to the angler to place sinkers under the lure to define whether he wants it to float, suspend or sink.
Leads are of course supplied, and all you have to do is stick them in the notches provided to modify the lure's swimming depth. The fact that it can be made suspending, a density rarely found on glide baits, makes it particularly interesting!

However, lead seals are glued on with an adhesive. Once glued, it's difficult to remove them, and if you keep doing it over and over again, you run the risk of losing the lead in the long term, unless you change the adhesive. However, it is possible to buy these leads separately, in bags of 10.

As a result, once you've chosen the configuration that suits you best, it becomes difficult to change. Personally, my favorite configuration is the one with a lead in the head, which makes the floating lure very slow.

In addition to these weights, a spare soft tail in a different color is included in the box. There are also two good-quality BKK treble hooks, but if you prefer to use single hooks, size 3/0 is the right size.
Finally, the colors available are perfectly suited to freshwater use. There are not only colors designed for black-bass fishing, as is often the case with lures from Japan, which is understandable.
Swimbait Republic, no doubt due to the fact that the lure was developed by Spanish anglers, has not forgotten pike anglers. All the essentials are here, including white, fire tiger, gold and natural colors.

Use
With its intermediate size of 17.6 centimetres, this glide bait will appeal to fine specimens of black bass and pike.
It's easy to use and can be reeled in at constant speed, in which case it performs a large S typical of glide baits. It can also be twitched, brought back in stop-and-go or even jerked, in which case it reacts as expected.
My opinion
Honestly, the Glideway 176 is close to perfection, and I think it's one of the best glide baits of its size available today. It casts very easily and at a good distance, it reacts well to different animations and has a very good swim, in short, it's very, very, very good!

If instead of glue-on sinkers there had been a screw-in sinker system, as Rapala has done with its latest screw diver system, I'd probably have called it the perfect lure!
