Saltiga X LInk is the top-of-the-range fluorocarbon available from Daiwa. It is available in a range of diameters, from 8 lb in 23.5 hundredths to 100 lb in 98 hundredths. Made in Japan, this fluorocarbon features a unique treatment, Cross Link, applied to the internal structure of the molecules that make it up to push back the limits of resistance. Exclusive Daiwa nanotechnology reduces the memory effect and greatly improves knot strength.
The spools contain 30 meters of fluorocarbon, arranged in parallel windings to avoid overlapping and preserve maximum line capacity. A spool protector ensures better product preservation and ease of use when making leaders.
Main applications
Saltiga X Link is not a fluorocarbon that is generally used for classic fishing. It is designed for sport fishing that puts a lot of strain on the equipment or for fishing combative fish with fine tackle. In freshwater, it allows you to fish pike much more finely without the risk of getting cut. It is also extremely effective for black-bass fishing in cover where abrasion resistance is vital to get the fish out.
At sea, the Saltiga X Link stands out when fishing in clear water where the length and fineness of the leader must be matched. Vertical fishing for big fish such as dentex or amberjack requires high abrasion resistance on a diameter fine enough not to be visible, which this fluorocarbon achieves perfectly.
Other interesting uses
Many sea and freshwater fisheries require fluorocarbons that are highly resistant to abrasion and tension. In exotic fishing, particularly in Australia and New Zealand, Saltiga X Link has been tried and tested time and again and has become a must-have. GT and Kingfish anglers have reduced their leader diameters by up to 60% without risking losing fish.
In the Mediterranean and Atlantic, Saltiga X Link can be used to create very long leaders for live fishing for large predators such as bluefin tuna. The flexibility of this fluorocarbon allows our bait to swim freely without having to use nylon.
