Duffel bag
The Duffel bag is a cylindrical bag with top entry and hoop handles, commonly known as a sports bag. A duffel bag's open structure and lack of rigidity make it suitable for carrying sports equipment and similar bulky items, making it perfect for carrying fishing rods and other tackle!

For fishing trips, models 80 to 90 centimetres long, with shoulder straps for backpacking, are simply perfect for carrying multi-stranded rods and travelling light!

What's more, these dimensions are within the tolerances for checked baggage. This means that you can carry your fishing rods without incurring any excess baggage charges. So you can easily find your luggage, without the risk of it being lost or delayed, which can happen with non-conventional baggage.

Waterproof
Duffel bags are generally made from waterproof PVC canvas. This splash-proof material keeps your belongings dry, for example, during boat transfers or in the rain.

Handy
The advantage of having your main bag on your back is that you can move around easily, especially if you have to alternate between different modes of transport, such as the metro, bus or car, and above all, you can take the stairs very easily.

When traveling, a Duffel bag and a backpack or carry-on suitcase are often enough to carry all the gear you need.
Weight
With a Duffel bag, the weight of the bag itself is not too heavy. This maximizes the bag's filling capacity, especially when flying with baggage weight restrictions, and allows you to carry extra stock.
In fact, the fact that there are no frames, wheels, dividers or hard handles means that the bag weighs between 1 and 1.5 kilograms.
Other use
Finally, once at your destination or at home, between two trips, this bag can be used to carry equipment such as a wader, rain gear or diving fins.
