A swimbait that swims just below the surface
This year, for once, I'm putting articulated lures in my box. This one is an articulated swimbait, the 3 DB Wake Prop (F) offered in the 2024 Yo-Zuri catalog. A lure for prospecting the water layer just below the surface, and making noise above it.
This lure swims upside down, dragging the rest of its body under the water. It's equipped with a large propeller in the tail which stays out of the water and, because of its size, makes a lot of noise by stirring up a lot of water. It creates a strong wake of bubbles and splashing water.
Simple animation
For animation, a simple linear retrieve is all you need. The articulated lure then moves in an S-shape, amplified by its wide lip at the head with also a side-to-side rolling action. It's a massive lure that makes a lot of noise and moves a lot of water, so it can be heard from a distance. It passes through very little water, ideal for prospecting edges or the edges of submerged obstacles.
The 3DB Wake Prop is a big lure that will make pretty fish move, and as it swims on the surface, attacks will always be impressive... What's more, it's a lure fitted with noisemakers, two large beads in the front body section and a smaller bead in the tail near the oversized propeller.

Opinions
A fine finish for a fair price, with Japanese quality in all its components. The different colors available make this lure suitable for both sea and freshwater fishing for predators. I'm particularly partial to the Ghost sexy shad color, with its blue back and black dot on each blank.
Currently available in 85 mm, this lure also exists in 105 mm across the Atlantic. A rather slow retrieve suits it perfectly and triggers numerous attacks.
