Fishing as therapy
The Fishing Therapy team develops projects around fishing (our passion) and disability (our daily life). Spurred on by 12-year-old Tiago, who has been confined to a wheelchair since the age of 9 due to a degenerative disease of the lower limbs, the association came into being in 2021. An association created to face up to and share this feel-good passion: seeing fishing as therapy.
Getting out, moving and sharing can become a real challenge for these disabled youngsters and their families.

Illness and wheelchairs have come into our lives, but there's no way we're getting away from our passion: fishing, nature and all the emotions that go with it.
Through encounters, medical follow-ups, institutes, handisport and our entry into the world of disability, we come across young people, difficulties, smiles and hope.

A roadmap for fishing activities
Fishing Therapy is creating a roadmap for disabled fishing with the aim of working on :
- the development of suitable tools for discovering and enjoying fishing
- finding partners capable of handling our specific needs
- participation and creation of events for young people with disabilities
- discussions with institutions on PRM projects to facilitate access to the water's edge and fishing activities

Fishing and sharing
Most of our fishing is done on mobile stations, and we find and build completely autonomous float-tubes that can be adapted to people with reduced mobility, and we try to adapt these tools to handicaps. Today, we're thinking about a boat for several young people. We're also creating events to bring us all together.

We go fishing, of course, but for some, it's the sharing that counts. It allows us to talk about the good, the bad, the difficulties and the small victories of everyday life. It's always good to know you're not alone.
The associations around us help us, holding sales and charity runs to keep us going. Numerous members, supporters and donors strengthen us and enable our projects to come to fruition.

Whether you're new to the sport or a true fishing enthusiast, our tools make it possible. In short, Fishing Therapy is about creating adventures, memories and sharing at the water's edge. Despite our difficulties, we're still fishing!
